ProjectRegister currently works with Internet Explorer 7 and 8,
Firefox 3, Google Chrome, and Apple Safari.
Is ProjectRegister secure?
Paid subscriptions use SSL - the same security used by online banks and merchants.
Your data is backed up daily and is run on advanced servers with redundant storage.
Adding or changing things in ProjectRegister
Who can add, update or delete Projects?
ProjectRegister uses assigned roles to determine the level of access for each user.
Users who are members of Project Manager or Project Management Office roles may add, update, and
delete projects.
Who can add, update or delete Users and Departments?
ProjectRegister uses assigned roles to determine the level of access for each user.
Users who are members of the Administrator role may add, update, and
delete users and departments.
Who can add, update or delete Customers?
ProjectRegister uses assigned roles to determine the level of access for each user.
Users who are members of Administrator or Project Management Office roles may add, update, and
delete customers.
Uploading/downloading data
How do I upload a list of users, customers, or my departments?
It may be quicker to upload repetitive data rather than manually keying it in one record at a time.
Initial data can be uploaded to ProjectRegister from a comma-separated value (CSV) list. This type of
list can be created in a spreadsheet program. Here is a list of types of records may be uploaded into ProjectRegister,
including a sample .CSV file that you may download, edit and upload.
My projects have similar risks and/or deliverables. How do I upload these?
You can upload Risks and Deliverables from comma-separated value (CSV) files.
You can download an existing project's risks and deliverables to see the format required.
Or, click here to download a sample file.
You can download risks or deliverables, update them in your spreadsheet program,
and then upload them back to the project if you wish.
How do I download my Users/Customers/Departments?
Only Administrators may download this data. Sign on as Administrator and the Download button will be
visible below the User, Customer, and Department lists.
How can I get a copy of all my data?
Only Administrators may export all the data in the system. Go to the System/Export menu item
and click and the Download button. The data is downloaded in XML format.

How do I disable or change the time span for the Project Stale (

marker?
The Project Stale icon

is displayed on the Home page, the Project List, and other pages.
It indicates that the project budget or deliverables have not been updated recently.
It appears only on Running projects.
Sign on as Administrator, and go to the System/System Information page. Click on the System Settings tab.
The
Project will be marked Not Current
(
)
after number days setting can be set to the number of days
before a project is designated Stale. If you set it to zero, projects will never be designated as Stale.
System Settings
How do I change my system's Currency designator?
The system displays a currency indicator such as $ or € beside currency fields.
Sign on as Administrator, and go to the System/System Information page. Click on the System Settings tab.
The Currency Symbol setting can be set to any single character.
How do I change my Date format?
ProjectRegister displays dates in the format chosen by your browser language setting.
Typically your browser
is correctly configured for your language and region. Usually this setting is located in your browser
options and is labeled Languages.
How do I change the Time Zone?
The system displays dates and times in the Time Zone that is configured in the System Information page.
Sign on as Administrator, and go to the System/System Information page. Click on the System Settings tab,
select the Time Zone from the dropdown list, and click Save.
User Accounts and Passwords
How do Roles work in ProjectRegister?
Each user of ProjectRegister may be assigned various Roles.
ProjectRegister uses those assigned roles to determine the level of access for each user.
The roles are:
- Administrator - May create/update/delete any item, including users
- Project Management Office - May delete Projects
- Manager - May Review Projects and approve Resource Requests
- Project Manager - May create and update Projects
- Technical Lead - May update Projects
- Guest - May view items only
In addition, roles such as Manager, Project Manager, and Technical Lead are used to display the appropriate
names when picking users; e.g. when selecting the responsible Manager for a project, only people with the
role of Manager will be displayed.
How can I change my User Name/Department/Email address?
Contact your Administrator; only Administrators may change user information.
How do I change my password?
Click on My Account at the upper left of the screen. You will see your user information and a button
that will enable you to change your password.
A user has forgotten his password. Can I reset it?
Administrators can reset passwords. Find the user on the Users list, and click on the user ID to view the
user details. Then, edit the user record and enter a new password into the New Password (replaces existing)
field.
